Video Responses allow you to gain deeper understanding of each respondent beyond the information that they may type into a survey. They are incredibly versatile and allow you to hear extra qualitative feedback. For example, you may want to know how your product is being used by a test group. Take your report to the next level by adding a few sound bites from respondents.
Adding Video Response Question Types
To add a Video Response question, simply drag and drop the corresponding icon from the sidebar into the survey editor.
The first bar you see will allow you to add text instructions and questions. You can add an image or video to be reviewed or if you don’t want or need to use any of the options above you can Select "NO CONTEXT"
Then, fill out the list of talking points you would like to address.
Respondents will generally go over each talking point one at a time. To collect 30 second videos, we recommend 1-2 talking points and for a 1-minute video you would need to provide 2-4 talking points.
When crafting the questions and talking points, keep in mind that the respondents who do not choose to record a video will not see these questions, so make sure it’s not something the entire group will need to view. This question should be reserved for a deeper dive on the overall survey. You can for example show them any logo, commercial or tagline that was shown previously and ask them to answer specific talking points or give feedback. You can also start a survey with Video Responses and get top of mind feedback. You need to provide enough information for them to provide feedback without introducing any bias.
To delete an entity or attribute, hover to the left of the corresponding item number and click the red “x” that appears.
Lastly, designate how many video responses you would like to collect. You will be able to collect up to 50 video responses per survey.
They survey will only collect the amount of responses designated below the question. Video responses are significantly more work for the respondents and are charge per response as a reflection of their efforts.
The Respondent's View
Each respondent will be asked 3 questions to confirm their participation in the video response. Any other respondents will continue to the next question.
For the respondents who answer "Yes" to the three questions pictured above, they will be presented with the instruction text, three talking points, as well as the option to record or upload a video.
Note: the maximum video response length is five minutes, however, actual responses tend to be less than one minute long.
Viewing Video Responses
Once your survey is complete you will be able to view your video responses by selecting the icon shown in the top right corner of this question.
You will be taken to another page showing each of the video responses collected. On this page you will be able to view and even download an MP4 file for each video.
