Data Lab: Everyone Else

The “everyone else” feature within a Virtual Question (VQ) will allow you to quickly populate a custom chart comparing a specific subset of data against the rest of the population.

For example, if you wanted to compare a particular subset of respondents by age range against the rest of the population of your survey you can use the everyone else button.

After adding the Virtual Question (don’t forget a title) you will select the age range you want to compare from the drop down, let’s use respondents 18-34 years old. Give that segment a title and then delete the second answer option, we won’t need it in this example. Then you will click the “everyone else” checkbox. This will populate a filter to include respondents 35+, it will add a default label of “other” we can change it to reflect the filter. Click Generate Chart, and voila!

This feature can be used on demographic or question and answer segments within your survey.

Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about creating custom segments by clicking the chat at the bottom right of your screen. We look forward to hearing from you!
