Margin of Error Calculator

Margin of error is an estimate of how far true population values may be from the collected sample data. It is generally expressed in percentage points and depends on the size of your Target Market, Sample Size, and the Confidence Level.

Simply put, you want to have the lowest possible margin of error at the highest possible Confidence Level. 

You can use this calculator in two ways; to determine margin of error on a completed survey or to determine the required sample size depending on your target margin of error. 

  • Enter in your population size – this might take some googling on your part
  • Enter either your sample size or margin of error
  • Enter in your confidence level
  • Click calculate
