Open-Ended Questions
You can collect qualitative responses on the aytm platform with the Open-Ended (OE) question type. It's perfect for gathering your respondents’ top-of-mind, unaided feedback. These responses are invaluable when you’re looking to learn something beyond your expectations, without biasing respondents with a predetermined set of answers.

Click on the OE icon or drag and drop into your survey. Once an OE question is added to your survey you can input your question text.

The default for most questions is mandatory, meaning a respondent won't be able to move to the next question until filling in an answer. This question type is one of the few exceptions were you can choose to make it optional. Click on the "make optional" checkbox.
You can add images to open ended questions, and choose whether they should appear full-width or thumbnail sized. You can also set a minimum (min) or maximum (max) number of characters required for responses. Click on the appropriate drop-down to apply those settings.
In addition to being able to review the full, verbatim OE responses we also include word cloud functionality for every OE response.
