Heatmap & Virtual Questions
You can create a Virtual Question (VQ) based on Pins or Clusters from a Heatmap question type.
Create a new Virtual Question
Add a new Virtual Question from the Data Lab, by dragging and dropping into your report.
Creating a VQ from Pins
To populate a VQ based on pins from a Heatmap, click on the first drop-down menu under A1, scroll down and find the Heatmap Question from your survey. Pins will be in the next drop-down. Select the pins you want to add to your VQ and add a label for the chart. Repeat until you have added all the Pins you want to include in the VQ. Click on Generate Chart to populate the chart.
If you need to combine Pins with other data points from your survey, you can switch to advanced mode and create custom filters with aytm logic. For instance, if you wanted to filter a pin by gender, switch to advanced mode and the following logic syntax: and gender = ‘f’ to the answer line.
Note: If a Pin had open ended responses they will also populate in your VQ and you can click "load word cloud" to populate the word cloud and it's settings.
Creating a VQ from Clusters
If you save a custom cluster in your Heatmap you can reference it in a Virtual Question. Add a VQ to your report, click on an answer line and scroll to your Heatmap question. From the second drop-down you can select pins or any saved clusters.
You can also use the advanced mode to populate clusters. The logic syntax to reference a cluster is "in cluster." In this example, a cluster has the title Dog. The logic syntax would be Q19r in cluster "Dog" which references the responses from the Heatmap (Q19r) located within the cluster Dog. Repeat this until you have added all the clusters you wish to reference, then click the generate button to create the VQ.
From here, you can create any combinations of Pins, Clusters, or other segments from the survey to customize a Virtual Question.
